Your show host Robert with special guest Doug Prieto, Part One. Don is best known for his involvement with racing. He grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and began racing a 1933 flathead Ford. Later a HEMI powered Ford. In the early 1960s he moved to California and worked for Mickey Thompson and then partnered with some SOCAL drag racers building and racing dragsters. In 1966 he ventured into journalism as the managing editor for "Drag Racing Magazine". In 1968 Don moved to Petersen Publishing as the editor of "Hot Rod Industry News". There he became a liason between the OEM manufactureres and the the racers crosspromoting the sport to a larger motorsports audiance. Each year Don host the "Cackle Fest" where he and hundreds of Drag Race fans gather for Tacos and fire of a crack the throttle on vintage Dragsters.
