Your show host Robert and special guest Pete Chapouris. Pete is the original "California Kid" hot rodder and president of the original "SO-Cal Speed Shop" located in Pomona California. Pete got started in the hot rod business working at Blair's Speed Shop and through associations with Alex Xydias, founder of So-Cal. Pete's first break came when a '34 Ford coupe that he built was featured in Rod and Custom magazine. That car was the the star of the movie, "The California Kid", co-starring Martin Sheen. Pete then started Pete and Jake's speed shop with friend Jim Jacobs, specializing in hot rods and speed parts. Following the sale of Pete and Jake's, Pete moved on to assume the position of vice president of marketing for SEMA. Pete then established another hot rod shop building cars for celebrities such as Billy Gibbons, Bruce Meyers and Jeff Beck. Pete ultimately acquired the well known name So-Cal Speed Shop and with the support of Alex Xydias, he carries on the tradition of southern California hot rodding.
