Your show host Robert and special guest Carroll Shelby. Carroll Shelby is well recognized as the father of the most famous and sought after car in the world, the csx "Shelby Cobra". During WWII, Carroll Shelby joined the Air Force and was a flight instructor and test pilot. He started racing cars in Texas in the early 1950's. He had an amazing career, driving cars like MG, Allard, Maserati, Healey and Ferrari in sports car racing. He also drove in a number of F1 races. In 1959 he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans driving an Aston Martin. Along the way he built a number specialty cars. In 1962 he forged an alliance with Ford Motor Company and the 289 Cobra was born. In 1965 the the 427 Cobra and the Shelby GT 350 Mustang were added to the lineup. In 1967 the Shelby GT 500 Mustang was introduced. Today, 50 years later, Carroll Shelby is still building powerfull Cobra's and Shelby Mustangs at the Shelby American Las Vegas Manufacturing facility. Carroll Shelby created the Carroll Shelby Foundation - Helping children who are battling life threatening illnesses.
