  • Your show host Robert and special guest Joel Rosen. Joel "MR. Motion" Rosen started working on and racing cars in the late 50's. He started and founded "Motion Performance" out of his Sunoco gas station in Brooklyn NY in the mid 60's. Initially, Joel's interest was in road racing but he later found enormous success drag racing Ford AC Cobras and early Corvettes. In the 60's Motion Performance became the place to go for the most powerful and competitive Chevy's on the east coast. Joel eventually teamed up with Baldwin Chevrolet, on Long Island NY. Between 1967-1974 he built hundreds of street race prepared Corvettes, Chevelles, Novas and even numerous Vegas. The sales brochure included the line; “We think so much of our Phase III Supercars that we guaranty they will turn at least 120 mph in 11.50 seconds or better with an M/P-approved driver on an AHRA or NHRA-sanctioned drag strip”. It is said that there are no known comebacks. All the Motion cars received special paint, badging and recognizable Motion graphics in addition to engine, chassis and body modifications. The Phase III Corvette GT Supercar, of which only ten were built, are the most sought after and most valuable, some reaching over a half million dollars. Joel resides in southern Florida and for the last two decades he has been running “Motion Models” producing highly detailed and museum-quality military, commercial and personal aircraft, ship and boat models. He also consults model toy and die-cast car manufacturers on his Motion cars for collectors and hobbyists. Joel occasionally appears at car shows and can often be seen discussing his Motion cars with enthusiasts.
